This study was done by Wellner Architects, Inc. to determine the size, cost, and location of a new facility in the Tucson area. The study included a square foot analysis of the existing facility, an adequate facility 3 years from now, and a projected size 20 years from now. With this information, WAI developed a one story and a two story generic space plan for the “3-yearout” building, as well as a test layout on the site currently adjacent to the existing facility. In addition, we looked at two potential sites in the Tucson area available for development. The recommended solution was to construct a new one story facility which would provide each associate with an adequate lab and work station space that is suited for each department’s particular needs.
