The Veteran’s Administration Hospital located in Kansas City, Missouri required an expanded and centralized food serving area and a new seating area for the food canteen. The new serving area was relocated from the fourth floor to be nearer the central kitchen area for the hospital. In order to locate the 10,450 square foot food court seating area adjacent to the serving area, the existing men’s and women’s locker rooms had to be relocated. Four new food service venues were designed and constructed for the canteen with a cafeteria-style beverage and condiment area to service all four counters. Wellner Architects completed the design, produced the construction documents, chose the finishes for the spaces, and provided construction administration for the project.
