VA MAIN ENTRY & CLINIC

Kansas City, MO

Architecture + Interiors + Construction Admin.

US Department of Veterans Affairs

Completed in 2020

The Kansas City VA Medical Center is a busy hospital and clinic that needed a centralized main entrance to their complex of interconnected buildings.  The existing single-story entry was unassuming and tucked back into a shaded courtyard.  WAI designed a 2-story infill addition that gives the entrance presence and improves patient pick-up and drop-off.  The grand lobby connects two existing buildings (with future connection to a third) and contains waiting areas, patient check-in terminals, visitor restrooms, and the OEF/OIF clinic.

Patients and employees alike are now greeted by a bright, welcoming energy.
